Who It Is For

Is this you?

The residency is open to a male leader, 21 or older, who believes he is called into vocational ministry, has some prior training, and carries the affirmation of a local church.

These characteristics are discussed and assessed through the application process:

  • Has a firm grasp on the gospel and its implications in all of life
  • Is aligned with the mission, vision, values, and beliefs of the Saturation Family of Churches
  • Is humble and teachable
  • Has a track record of faithfulness and godly character
  • Models leadership capabilities
  • Works well with others and submits to a plurality of leadership

The pastoral residency in Syracuse has profoundly shaped my desire to serve the Lord and His people as I aspire to pastoral ministry. I have been mentored and given opportunities to serve and grow in maturity.

I’ve gained experience in preaching, teaching, leading, and other core ministry skills as I am active in the church now and seek a lifelong vocational ministry in the local church. In the future, I am eager to continue to be a part of what God is doing as we hope to engage Upstate NY and give every man, woman, and child an opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.

How It Is Funded

Provided for, and partly raised

Compensation is $48,000 a year. The family and its partners provide $36,000 of it; the resident raises the remaining $12,000. Other ministry resources and expenses are funded by the family as needed.

Why does a resident raise support?

In a post-Christian and spiritually lost context, the ability to raise and sustain ministry funding is essential for long-term effectiveness. Church planters, revitalizers, and pastors in the Northeast must be able to engage relational networks, communicate vision clearly, and invite others into the mission financially.

Support-raising becomes an early test of faith, perseverance, communication, and calling: qualities vital for those who will shepherd God’s people and advance gospel saturation over the long haul. The family provides fundraising resources and assistance to help you do it.

After the Residency

Sent, not just trained

On completion, residents are evaluated and commissioned into one of three pathways.

Church Planting

Launching a new congregation in the region.

Church Revitalization

Serving as a catalytic leader in an existing congregation.

Pastoral Leadership

Joining a local staff or team in a long-term role.

Our goal is not simply to train leaders. It is to send laborers into the harvest.
